I was sitting here this morning trying to come up with something to write about. On Wednesdays we like write about something sexy (it is “hump day” after all!). What was the first thing that came to mind? A customer’s question from a call I had a week or so ago. She was new to the whole “lingerie thing” and wasn’t sure what to get. So, I asked her what colors she likes and what colors she usually wears in blouses/tops, since that is a great starting point for anyone unsure or slightly uncomfortable about buying sexy goodies. She said that her wardrobe is mostly black, but that her eyes really pop when she wears blues or teals, and that she feels extra saucy when she wears red blouses and dresses. So, we picked out a gorgeous deep teal chemise and robe, a couple very sexy red babydolls and a gorgeous red corset. I even received an email from her after she got them, saying that she loved the way the teal complimented her eyes, and that she felt extremely confident in the red babydoll and corset. She said that even her boyfriend commented on how confident and sexy she looked! And that is really what it boils down to: Confidence is key. Sometimes something as simple as “your color” can make you feel super confident and super sexy.
So, if you are ready to strut your stuff in something new, but aren’t quite sure what to get, just ask yourself: What is your favorite color when you want to feel sexy? What color helps you feel confident?
I’ve been thinking about something that reminds me of the age old question; which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Here’s the modern day question: Do you feel sexy because you wear lingerie? Or do you wear lingerie because you feel sexy? I still haven’t figured it out, but researching it sure is fun!
Unfortunately, in our society women are taught to focus on their flaws instead of their natural beauty. The more I embrace and celebrate my curves, the more confident I feel. All I know is, each time I play dress-up with a flirty petticoat or I lace myself up in that ever-so-hot Valentina underbust corset, I feel a little bit sexier! What’s your favorite dress-up outfit or sexy ensemble that makes you feel amazing?
With Thanksgiving fast approaching, I couldn’t help but remember the old tradition of going around the table with each person saying what they are thankful for. So, let’s do that here! I’ll go first.
We are thankful for our amazing customers! We are thankful that in a society that seems to strive for skin-deep perfection, we can help to promote a love of real beauty and real women. Women come in all shapes and sizes, and there is real beauty in each and every one.

Hi ladies & gents! What a whirlwind of a week! First off, I have to thank every single one of our fabulous customers for making this Halloween season such a wonderful and busy time. Not only did we have a fantastic Halloween, but we have been LOVING all the pics our customers have been posting in their sexy costumes! (check them out on our FB page! Our customers look amazing in their costumes!!)
On top of that, we had a great time promoting the love of Hips & Curves at this year’s L.A. FFFWeek (Full Figured Fashion Week)! H&C was featured in the Saturday finale event on the FFFWeek runway. It was such a blast, and our models ROCKED in some of our hottest corsets, costumes and lingerie.
