Beth Ditto – High Fashion Covergirl?

I just came across an article for a new Condé Nast luxury fashion and style publication called LOVE that promises to be “edgy and experimental”. I know we’re all used to seeing size zero fashion models and movie stars gracing the covers of high end fashion mags but to my surprise, the very first issue of Love features a not so typical cover model – Beth Ditto! And by the way, she is nude!  Apparently it’s not the first time she has posed nude for a magazine cover.  Rebecca just sent me this link with a shot from her NME  cover shoot.

What do you guys think of the cover? Is it sexy? Tacky? Empowering? Share your thoughts!

    I think she has an adorable body and is neither tacky or distasteful. I hope to see more of women like her on magazine covers not just behind the pages!

    I love this cover! I wish all magazines would show real women. My body is exactly like hers. I would love to do modeling but have never had the courage to do it because of all the stick thin women. I never see plus size models.

    This girl is amazing!! I love women like her and I’m glad to see a picture of this on the cover of a Conde Nast publication. There are men’s magazines that have women like her on their covers. But they are usually wrapped in plastic and sold in the kinds of stores you don’t necessarily want to be seen walking into or out of.

    Love the cover picture. Its very tasteful and she looks great. I too have a body like hers. and is nice to see it celebrated like that. she looks very confident and it ups my confidence level as well. thank you so much.

    Oh my gosh! I have the same body as hers. It is like looking in the mirror. She looks fantastic…soft and sexy. Very tasteful.

    WOW….a real woman on the cover! I prefer fat women ( my wife is 200 + lbs )and would like to see more magazines featuring real size women . I will be searching for this one.

    I think this is wonderful. This model is adorable. I love her curves and she inspires me to be me. I am sexy even though I am not a size 3. This cover is hot and I would love to see more of them. and I would love to see more men admit that they like curves instead of being spineless and going for the size 3.

    I don’t know about anyone else but frankly, I am tired of being compared to 2-5 % of women in this world. Real women have jobs, family, and other responsibilities and we keep it tight, so what if we are a bit chubby; More of us to love!!! And, of course, if you don’t love it then leave but please don’t play with it, real women don’t have the time!!!

    My gosh, great cover. I am a full figured woman and have no desire to be skinny. Men that only want a woman that looks like a little boy with boobs needs to come out of the closet. The cover reflects a very beautiful woman.

    I think that this is a beautiful cover! I am very stunned to see an image like this on a Conde Nast publication. I hope it inspires people to rethink their idea or standard of sexy. I am almost speechless…

    I can’t believe you women actually think she looks pretty??!!!! I believe you only say this cause you probably look like her (like many of you said here) however that does not make it ok and nice appealing to the eye. No, you don’t have to be pin thin like Nicole Richie or Lindsey Lohan, but come on! Treat your body better!! This girl looks slimey and like a big hog. Sorry if you look like her….eat better and exercise.

    dude!! ewww ur kidding right? this isss soooooo NOT hot! that chick needs to do some situps and jog like 10 miles a day. im not saying women have to be super scrawny either but come on! this is disgusting im having a hard time not puking even if it was a thinner HEALTHIER girl this is stil tasteless yuckkk! this chick needs exerciseeee

    I think that she looks beautiful, the expression on her face, the tilt of her head the softness of her body and the light is all just lovely. I love the censorship too, tasteful and flows with the cover. The whole image is just bright and soft.
