Chaos In My Panty Drawer!

It’s a brand new year and time to start working on my resolutions. Last week I decided I would keep my closet organized and wake up an hour earlier every day to eat breakfast (I have a bad habit of waking up late and rushing to the office!).    I’m proud to say I’ve been doing both splendidly.

I felt so great about my progress until this morning, I opened up my panty drawer to look for a pair of panties to match a new bra I picked up at work.  Sigh.  I’ve really let my lingerie drawers go to shambles.  A disarray of tangled straps and panties that look like they’ve been to the dark side.  Garter belts with missing garters, nippie packaging with no nippies inside, a lone thigh high who lost her partner (I think I lost that in the back of someone’s car!  I hope he found it and not one of his friends – I’d never live that one down.) and that babydoll with the underwire poking out.  I promised myself I’d throw it out months ago but it brings back too many memories – like the first time my sweetie saw me in it then proceeded to rip it off of me.  That babydoll has really seen a lot of action this year.

This weekend I am going to clean out my lingerie drawers.  I’ve been inspired by that TV show “Clean House” so I know I’ll need two piles: Keep and Toss (Not  donate -  my crotchless panties have seen a lot of action and I don’t think anyone at the Goodwill wants worn underwear.  Well maybe a few pervs, but they’re not getting mine.)

Here is what I am thinking about tossing:

  • All of the lingerie my boyfriend washed that turned grey
  • Items with faded colors
  • Things I haven’t worn this year – like those padded panties.  I mean really.  What was I thinking?  I already have enough junk in the trunk!
  • Things that just don’t fit anymore
  • Anything with holes or stretched out elastic

I’m ashamed that I work for a plus size lingerie company and I can’t even keep my lingerie addiction under control.  It seems so overwhelming, I have so many pieces!  What is the best way to organize my expansive collection of underthings?  I want beautifully arranged drawers of dedicates.   I’d love to hear what other people are doing!  Please share your organizing insights with me!

Go to the Container Store!! They have a metal rack that you can hang things with. It’s a lingerie dryer but I have them in my closet – I use them for bra’s as well as other pieces, like nighties, etc. It makes things easier to find, for me at least.

I used to put my lingerie in drawers too but I found that I would buy something and it would get stuck in the back of the drawer only to be found a year later, after it was already out of style!

    Try this!

You have to make sure that you fold your undies when you put them in, otherwise this thingamajig is worthless. But if you invest the time in folding, it is great! I just love openeing my drawer when all my undies are neat and organized!

This also works for socks, ties and accessories!

You guys – I love this stacks and stacks store! Look at this: http://www.stacksandstacks.com/bra-box-shelf-and-drawer-organizer/784/3706/

It’s a bra organizer! Not sure if it will work with padded bras though.

WOW! I love this web site!!! I am a big beautiful woman who is getting married in June and have just suddenly realized after reading your blog, that my own “panty drawer” is in dire need of attention. I have old, raggy looking “grandma bras and panties!” I have been single way too long and have neglected the “sensous side of me.”So in the near future I will begin making some new “investments” from your site. I am sure my fiance’ will be pleased. Thank you for sharing.
